Our CEO, Bill Oesterle, has made it a top priority to revive the Holy Cross neighborhood that's home to our Angie's List campus. We all love his vision and enjoy watching the rundown homes get rehabbed, but there's also some good-natured ribbing that comes with what he affectionately refers to as 'Angieville.'

More than a few employees have bought homes near campus, and now that I'm shelling out $10 a day for gas to and from work, I'm thinking they're pretty smart. I'm also thinking about carpooling, which is something I never thought about before. I've got three kids so I considered my quiet time in the car before and after work priceless. But apparently it's got a price tag of $3.48 a gallon.

I'd rather spend my money on a new deck and some landscaping (and probably some new shoes) than gas, so I'm willing to compromise. If you're cutting back, I'd love to hear how...
