After a weekend of fighting parking lot traffic, waiting in long checkout lines and still not finding gifts for everyone on the list, shopping online looks better than ever! If you have a friend or loved one who could use a few pairs of helping hands in the coming year, sign in to Angie's List today to wrap up an Angie's List gift membership and give a full year of ratings, reviews, exclusive discounts, the Angie's List Magazine and live support from the Angie's List staff.

And for less than the price of a sweater ($7.50 to $20, depending on location), you can't beat the value.

I’ve been advocating the past two years that the efforts from health care providers to keep patients from talking about their medical treatment are wrong and should be stopped. So I was thrilled to see news coverage today indicating that a provider of medical gag orders says he is no longer selling them and is telling his members not to use the agreements in the future.

This action follows the filing of a complaint to the Federal Trade Commission and litigation filed recently against a dentist who reportedly tried to enforce a Mutual Privacy Agreement. We’ve been posting notifications on the profiles of doctors rated on Angie’s List who we have found are using these agreements. We’ll keep an eye on this to be sure they stop.

This is great news for consumers. No one should have to trade their free speech for medical care.
